#1 4-2-2-2 or 4-4-2 formation
The 4-2-2-2 formation is not a lot different from a conventional 4-4-2. Klopp used a 4-4-2 formation on a few occasions last season, especially against weaker teams. They manage a 4-4-2 shape when they defend, but when they have the ball it is mostly a 4-2-2-2.
This formation allows them to defend deeper and be more compact at the back. This will offer them width and also a lot of personnel when they counter. Klopp has the right set of players to play with this formation.
Keita has played in a similar formation at RB Leipzig and could slot in with Fabinho in a defensive midfield role. Shaqiri and Mane could play on the flanks, with Firmino and Salah up front.
