34th Federation Cup Qualifying rounds kick-off at JRD TATA Sports Complex

Jamshedpur - The qualifying rounds of the 34^th Federation Cup Football Tournament kicked-off today at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur. The qualifying rounds are being organized by Tata Steel in association with Jharkhand Football Association under the aegis of All India Football Federation from September 11 to 16, 2012. These rounds will be played between 6 teams divided in two groups. The winners of each group will qualify for the coveted tournament commencing from 20^th September, 2012 to 27^th September, 2012.

Six teams participating in the qualifying rounds are Aizawl FC (Mizoram), Vasco SC (Goa) and Mohammedan AC (IFA) in Group 1 and Kalighat Milan Sangha (IFA), Royal Wahingdoh FC (Meghalaya) and HAL SC in group 2 all playing for the top spot in their respective groups.

Mohammedan AC (IFA) played the first match against Aizwal FC which the later won by a margin of 6-1. Md. Mukhtar (12 mins), Ashim Biswas (17 mins, 89 mins), David Sunday Gadimch (11 mins), Alfred K Jaryan ( 52 mins, 56 mins) scored for the Kolkata club while Francis Zonuntluanga (56 mins) scored the solitary goal for Aizwal FC.

The qualifying rounds of Federation Cup will be played at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur with each match kicking-off at 3 pm on the match day.
