After 16 games in La Liga, the Spanish Giants are currently 4th in the table, however, they are just 5 points below Barcelona at the top. Real Madrid have already lost 5 and drawn 2 of their games in the league so far, including a humiliating 5-1 loss to bitter rivals Barcelona at the Nou Camp, which showed the difference in qualities between the two sides. They have also lost 3-0 away to both Sevilla and SD Eibar and as such, Solari might require reinforcements in the summer to mount a title challenge.

The main problem at the Bernabeu has been that they had not replaced the departing Ronaldo, who had been their main driving force in recent times. The Portuguese is already at home at Turin, while Real continue to be in deep waters. Goal scoring and defending have been the main problems, as Real have scored just 24 goals while conceded 19 from their 16 games. Benzema has been their top scorer in the league, scoring 6 goals from 16 games.
There are talks of an Isco-Ozil swap deal while, Hazard has also toyed with the Spanish giants, openly speaking of his admiration of the club. There were even reports that a deal between the club and the player is already done, however, how much of those are true can only be confirmed in January. One thing is certain though - without fresh players in the winter, Real Madrid will find it very tough to match expectations at the Bernabeu by the end of the season.

Deepungsu is a veteran football journalist who has been covering daily transfer roundups and news for over six years at Sportskeeda. He has written over 8500 articles for the website, and has garnered over 19.5Million reads.
Deepungsu holds a PG degree in Microbiology and an MBA degree in Total Quality Management. He has an extensive two-decade long writing experience, which includes a decade of sports blogging. His writing prowess has even led his work getting cited on the legendary Franz Beckenbauer's Wikipedia page.
Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
