#2 Carlo Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti has nothing but high praise for Karim Benzema and backs his man to triumph at the Ballon d'Or ceremony next month. Having made an unexpected return to Real Madrid following a middling spell at Everton, Ancelotti inherited an unsteady squad from the departing Zinedine Zidane.
However, with Benzema at his disposal, the Italian tactician has propelled Real Madrid to soaring heights in La Liga. Thanks to his 17 goal involvements, Los Blancos currently occupy the second spot, with a game in hand on Real Sociedad. Reflecting on his talisman's heroics, Ancelotti stated:
"Yes, I think for what he's doing and what he did last season, [Benzema] has to be on the list of players who could win the Ballon d'Or."
The 62-year-old manager went as far as to compare Karim Benzema to a fine wine that gets better with age. With the French veteran on his team, Ancelotti has the chance to bounce back from a trophyless season and win some silverware. The fact that he backs his star man for the Ballon d'Or proves he has full faith in Karim Benzema's astounding abilities.
#1 Ronaldo
The true successor of Ronaldo de Lima's No.9 jersey at Real Madrid, Karim Benzema has earned high praise from the Brazilian legend, owing to his fiery form. Having played for Los Blancos for five seasons, the two-time Ballon d'Or winner is the perfect observer of Madrid's current talisman.
Writing on Facebook, Ronaldo voiced his opinion about who deserves to win the 2021 Ballon d'Or. The superstar stated:
'Without a doubt, my candidate for the Ballon d'Or is Benzema. The best striker, brutal level for 10 years and champion above all. Don't you think?'
The current president and maximum shareholder of Real Valladolid, Ronaldo closely follows the day-to-day events in La Liga. And the Spanish division has been ferociously dominated by Karim Benzema since last year. After Lionel Messi's departure, the French striker is arguably the best player in the Spanish top-flight and now has the backing of the legendary Ronaldo to take the Ballon d'Or home.
Although Karim Benzema has received the backing of several high-profile names in the race for the Ballon d'Or, it remains to be seen if he triumphs at the ceremony.
