However, most of those who shared such enthusiasm would have been disappointed by now, with the Spaniard failing to take charge of the advantage and as a result, finding life to be a kind of hell in the Spanish capital.
The winger, who was dubbed one of the most promising young attacking talents in European football during the last two years, has fallen from grace at the Bernabeu, with a section of the supporters calling for him to be dropped by Santiago Solari after he failed to impress in front of goal, bagging just 4 goals and 4 assists to his name in 23 appearances for Los Blancos across all competitions so far this season.
