Having failed to perform up to expectations in his first full season at Barcelona, speculations have emerged that Philippe Coutinho could leave Barcelona in this summer window.

The Brazilian was made the most expensive signing in Barcelona's history and third most expensive player of all time when he completed a £140 million transfer to the Camp Nou from Liverpool in January 2018. And despite starring in his first half season with the Catalans, things got progressively worse in 2018/2019.

The 26-year-old found himself the subject of boos by the Barcelona crowd on numerous occasions and generally looked a shadow of the player he was in the Premier League.

If the club is to let him go, they would definitely want to recoup a large chunk of the money they spent to get him and this could then be channelled into their other pursuits.
