Opportunities have come at a premium for Cillessen

With hindsight, joining Barcelona was a massive mistake made by Jasper Cillessen. The 29-year-old decided to leave his first-choice position at Ajax in 2016 to create a fairytale at his new settlement - Camp Nou.

The decision, however, backfired as Cillessen never got the chance to exhibit his true potential having been left out behind Marc-André ter Stegen, who received the green light after Claudio Bravo's exit from the club.

During his stint, the Dutch shot-stopper only made 21 appearances for the team, only two of which came in the La Liga. Needless to say, a person of his flair deserves to enjoy more playing minutes at a different club.

Maybe Liverpool, who are eyeing him in the ongoing transfer window, will be his ultimate destination.
