Kylian Mbappe is only 20 years old but he has already had three world-class seasons. The young forward has been an important part in three French Ligue 1 triumphs, been twice in top 10 Ballon d'Or voting and was one of the leaders in France's World Cup win last summer.
Mbappe is rapidly becoming one of the best in the world and Ligue 1 might not be competitive enough anymore for him. New speculations over his future come up every day but there is still no signs from Mbappe himself that he might leave this summer. If he does, Real Madrid is possibly the most likely destination.
But there are some reasons why Mbappe should actually join Manchester United. The Red Devils do not look like the best possible team for the young Frenchman currently but there is no doubt that he has the potential to succeed in Manchester and become a highly respected legend.
#1 Mbappe could be the player that helps Manchester United return to the top
Manchester United has had its driest league spell since the Premier League was formed in 1992. This season will be its 6th in a row without the title and quite possibly the 4th in these six years outside the top 4.
Mbappe would immediately become the main man in this Manchester team and with his name the club could attract many more of the world's top talents. The French superstar would very likely succeed in United individually as he has already proved himself on the worlds toughest stage in the World Cup. If at the same time he wins the Premier League and the Champions League, he would be remembered as the man who brought back the Red Devils to the top.
So there is no doubt that Mbappe could build his legacy in Manchester as one of the greatest of all time.
#2 Mbappe would build a deadly partnership with Rashford
Just like Mbappe, Marcus Rashford is hailed as one of the best young forwards in the world. Only one year older than the PSG star, the United talent also possesses great speed and skill-set and is already an international player for his country England.
Rashford has been significantly less prolific than Mbappe but it can be blamed on the deeper role he plays and the frustrating inconsistency in Manchester United's tactical play. The fact that Rashford has scored seven out of the ten goals he's scored in Premier League this season in a ten game span just proves it.
It should also be acknowledged that he has time and time again proved himself against top teams. Rashford scored a double against Liverpool last season and the games only goal against Tottenham Hotspur this year. In fact, it was the young English forward that scored the decisive penalty against Mbappe's Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League's Round of 16.
Both talents would make the opposition defences fear them for the next decade if they would team up.
#3 Mbappe could become one of the best players in Premier League history
The Premier League is often considered as the most competitive top league in Europe. Footballers that have proved themselves there are highly respected. Mbappe would become the face of the league the moment he joins it.
As he is already one of the world's best players regardless of his young age, he would be able to dominate the Premier League for at least the next ten years. Mbappe could very realistically be considered as one of the league's best ever after he finishes his career.
And there is no question that Mbappe would fit in the Premier League. He was only 18 when he scored important goals against one of England's strongest sides, Manchester City, in the Champions League knock-out stages. In total, he has four goals in six games against Premier League teams.
#4 Mbappe could be the next great Manchester United number 7
Manchester United is famous for many legendary players wearing the number 7 shirt - George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo. Should Mbappe join Manchester United, his name could be the next. Something every footballer should want. At least it was like that before.
Unfortunately, Ronaldo's departure in 2009 has seemingly cursed the number 7 as no player has since succeeded in the Manchester club wearing it, including proven stars such as Angel Di Maria, Michael Owen and Alexis Sanchez.
But Mbappe could be that player who breaks the curse and becomes one of the great number 7's in Manchester United's rich history. If the talented Frenchman joins the Red Devils this summer and gets given the number 7, he would be the youngest to wear it since Ronaldo took it in 2003 as an 18 year old.
