The sale of Cristiano Ronaldo has come back to hurt the club

Ronaldo is one of the greatest players in the history of the game and any team that is lucky to get him becomes automatic contenders for titles. He is a type of player who drags his team to glory even when they are not playing very well and we saw enough of that during his time at the Bernabeu, especially in the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid's decision to let go of the Portuguese maestro could be the worst they've taken in recent years and in the absence of the winger, their chances of winning any trophy this season looks really bleak.
