West Ham United v Manchester United - Premier League
Manchester United have won just 4 of their 10 games so far this season and have already been defeated four times, including 3 times in the Premier League. They were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup, on penalties, by Championship side Derby County in the third round.

In the Premier League, Manchester United have scored just 10 goals in their 7 games, and conceded 12, the same as Bournemouth and West Ham United and are currently 10th in the league table. At Old Trafford, United have won just one of their 5 games this season. The performance of the players have been poor, and they look uninspired. The team selection has been questionable and there are no signs of improvements at all. When put into perspective, this is the third sign of Mourinho’s third season syndrome.

In his third season at Real Madrid, Mourinho lost a Cup final to Atletico Madrid, exited the Champions League in the semifinals and finished runners-up behind Barcelona in La Liga with a 13 point deficit. In his second stint at Chelsea, things got tough in the third season too, as the Blues managed just 4 wins in 16 league games and were living dangerously just 1 point above relegation when he finally got the boot.
It remains to be seen if the Portuguese can turn it around at United, or if the United Board are patient enough to let it run that long, but the performance of the team confirms that with Mourinho, history has a tendency of repeating itself.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
