The 2017-18 season was a great one for certain teams, with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur seizing the opportunity to achieve a lot of positives from the campaign. However, the same cannot be said about some clubs, including London outfit - Chelsea.

After leading The Blues to claim the Premier League crown in 2016, Italian tactician Antonio Conte had a season to forget last term (note: this is the Premier League and not the FA Cup) as the defending champions failed to put up a title challenge against Manchester City.

The Blues struggled for consistency throughout the campaign, and could only settle for the fifth position on the Premier League table after losing the Champions League spot battle to Tottenham and Liverpool.

This implies that they won't participate in the European tournament next season and will only feature in its second tier instead.
