Chelsea trailed 2-1 after the first leg at the Nou Camp. They needed something dramatic to overcome the deficit. Jose Mourinho was forced to start Mateja Kezman in attack alongside Eidur Gudjohnsen as the first choice striker Didier Drogba was out with a suspension.
With just 19 minutes on the clock, goals from Lampard, Duff and Gudjohnsen put hosts on the top. Chelsea were in the driving seat with an aggregate score 4-2 in their favour
But things are never as simple as they seem against Barcelona; in the 24th minute, the Blaugrana won a penalty and Ronaldinho calmly smashed it past Petr Cech to bring the away side back in the game.
Barcelona were still trailing by a goal on aggregate. In the 38th minute, Ronaldinho struck again to bring the score level on aggregate. The Spanish side were in complete control of the game with two away goals in their pocket.
With 14 minutes to the final whistle, though, Terry had the last laugh as he scored a header to give Chelsea a memorable win.
