#3 Deliberate hand ball vs City (2008)
For the second time, Ronaldo was sent off in the Manchester derby having been booked twice in this match. United led 1-0 in the 58th minute at City of Manchester Stadium when Shawn Wright-Philips initiated a surging run on the right flank.
Ronaldo tried to catch up with the speedy winger and ended up bringing him down with a vicious lunge. This earned him a booking from referee Howard Webb.
Maybe it was his sarcastic clap at the Webb after being booked that fuelled his sending off. In the 67th minute, a corner from the right flank resulted in Ronaldo committing a deliberate handball. He jumped and used his hands to stop the ball which did not go well with Webb. He received his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
