#3 Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
Harry Maguire is one of the best centre-backs in the game at the moment. But eyebrows were raised when Manchester United acquired him from Leicester City for £78.3 million. That made Maguire the most expensive centre-back in the world.
The England international has not disappointed, though. He is now the captain of Manchester United, and is renowned as an excellent ball-playing centre-back.
The 28-year-old displayed his qualities at Euro 2020 too. Maguire formed a watertight defensive partnership with Manchester City's John Stones at the tournament. He is one of Manchester United and England's most key players.
#2 Luke Shaw (Manchester United)
Luke Shaw is now one of the best left-backs in the game at the moment, and credit goes to him for his incredible transformation.
Shaw's talent was never in question. A prodigious star who made his name at Southampton, Shaw earned a move to Manchester United for nearly £34 million in 2014. After a good start to his career, Shaw suffered a serious, potentially career-ending injury in 2015.
The 26-year-old recovered and returned to the first-team fold, though. However, then-manager Jose Mourinho was not a huge fan of the player, and was often critical of his performances.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's arrival turned Luke Shaw's fortunes around. He is now Manchester United's first-choice left-back. For his performances last season, he won the Manchester United Players' Player of the Year award.
#1 Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)
The one player who can compete with Robert Lewandowski for the tag of best striker in the world right now is Harry Kane.
Kane is a complete striker. He is an excellent creator and prolific goalscorer. The England captain's performances for both club and country over the years have been sensational. Last season was arguably the best of his career.
Kane made 35 Premier League starts, scoring 23 goals and providing 14 assists. His performances led to heavy interest from Manchester City, but a move didn't materialise, though. The 28-year-old scored four goals at Euro 2020, helping England reach the final.
