Gareth Bale is the third best-paid player in La Liga. Bale became the most expensive football player in the history when he joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2013.

On the face of it, Bale has done very well winning 10 trophies, including three champions league, in less than five years at the Bernabeu.

In truth, however, Bale had a tricky injury-stricken season in which his stock has fallen to the point where he is no longer a key man for Zinedine Zidane and he is the man who has been compared to Messi and Ronaldo only a couple years ago.

That being said Bale's talent is obvious and if he can shake off his injuries and get back to his best, he does deserve to be one the best-paid players on the planet.
