#4 Ricardo Carvalho
FC Porto academy graduate joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2010 for a reported transfer fee of £6.7 million.
The Real Madrid board was criticised for signing Carvalho during his decline, but the defender repaid the faith of the board with his decent performances. He created a formidable partnership alongside Pepe in the middle of Madrid's defense and played 33 La Liga games during his first season at Bernabeu. He was nominated for the FIFA FIFPro World XI for his performances.
He played 50 La Liga games for Los Vikingos, scoring three goals. Carvalho won one La Liga title and one Copa del Rey trophy with the club.
Carvalho ran down his contract with Real Madrid and joined AS Monaco on a free transfer in 2013. He stayed for three seasons at Stade Louis II before finally hanging his boots with the Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG F.C. in 2017.
