#3 Karim Benzema
They keep writing Karim Benzema off but the Frenchman comes back and proves them all wrong. This is something Benzema has made a healthy habit out of. He has had his ups and downs over the past few seasons but his exploits in the last season alone are enough to show that even at 32-years-old, he remains elite.
Despite being a divisive figure, Benzema has proved time and again that he's got the ability to go shoulder to shoulder with the finest forwards in the business and is also a very dependable customer in clutch situations.
Last season, Karim Benzema scored 26 goals and racked up 10 assists across all competitions and was perhaps Real Madrid's best player as they clinched their 34th La Liga title.
#2 Ciro Immobile
Ciro Immobile journeyed across Italy and then went to Borussia Dortmund before finally arriving at Lazio. It's safe to say that the Italian striker has picked up some very valuable lessons on his way because he is presently one of the best strikers in the world.
In fact, he won the European Golden shoe for being the leading domestic goalscorer across all of Europe's top division leagues. The 30-year-old scored 36 goals from 37 appearances in the league last season for Lazio and matched Gonzalo Higuain's record for the most number of goals scored in a single season in the Serie A.
What's interesting to note is that Immobile more than doubled his tally from the 2018-19 season at the age of 30. If that's not improvement, we don't know what is. Immobile looks set to lead Lazio to another title challenge this time and we expect to see him score a lot more goals in the years to come.
#1 Robert Lewandowski
It wouldn't be hyperbolic to say that Robert Lewandowski just got robbed off a Ballon d'Or. He was going to go top of the podium and there wasn't even going to be much of a debate about it. At the age of 32, he won the continental treble with Bayern Munich and it was his incredible goalscoring form that buoyed them on to European glory.
Lewandowski scored a whopping 55 goals from 47 appearances for Bayern Munich in the 2019/20 season. Nobody even came close. He scored 15 goals from 10 Champions League appearances and was virtually unstoppable.
The Pole is easily the best striker in the business right now. He is excellent with the ball at his feet. He is intelligent with his passing and movement and is also strong in the air. Lewandowski is undoubtedly a generational talent as far as strikers are concerned and it will be interesting to see for how long he can keep this up.
