Club Atletico de Madrid v AS Monaco - UEFA Champions League Group A
AS Monaco had lit up the Ligue 1 in the 2016/17 season, finishing as the Champions and also reaching the semifinals of the Champions League. Even last season, they finished second in the league, yet right now, AS Monaco are 19th in Ligue 1. They have won just 2 of the 14 games so far and have lost 8, scoring just 13 goals and conceding 22!

Last season, Monaco lost just 6 games in Ligue 1 in the entire season, however this time, their treacherous form has continued right from the start of the season.
They won their first game against Nantes and then failed to register a win in the next 12 games! It was a run that ultimately cost Leonardo Jardim his job, as Thierry Henry took over on 13th October. However, even the Frenchman's presence has failed to inspire them, as, since his appointment, Monaco have won just 1 of the last 5 games.

In the Champions League too, the French side have been dismal, to say the least. They have lost 4 and drawn 1 of their 5 games and are out of the tournament already.
It has been a sad turn of events for a club that was supposed to be on the rise. While challenging for the title is out of bounds, fans will hope that Thierry Henry can at least steer their club out of the relegation zone and give them a fighting chance to survive in the Ligue 1 this season.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.

Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
