Leicester City's resolve to eke out a higher bid from Manchester United for Harry Maguire is perhaps the only factor that's stalling the move. Else, everything looks fine and dandy.

The Red Devils have had a mammoth £70 million bid turned down, as the Foxes are pushing to raise the figures up to £85 million. And if reports are to be believed, United has taken another stab at landing Maguire by tabling an £80 million offer earlier today.

Whether this breaks the ice or not remains to be seen, but a move looks imminent as reports emerged that the English international was dropped from Leicester's matchday squad for the friendly against Atalanta.

Maguire signed a contract extension with the club last year only for Leicester City to suggest he'd be sold if a reasonable offer is received this summer. The alleged £80 million bid by United appears more than just that.
