#5 Thiago Alcantara to Real Madrid

Finally, what could arguably be the blockbuster signing of the summer is the possibility of Thiago Alcantara – the former Barcelona, and current Bayern Munich midfielder – moving to Real Madrid.

The Spaniard moving to Real Madrid would be a huge shock in Spain, especially due to the rivalry between the two La Liga teams. Having played 68 games for Barcelona over a four-year period, Barcelona fans would be disappointed and angry to see the Spanish international move to Real.

With the Bayern attacking midfielder being in his prime, he would perfectly replace current attacking midfielders Isco and James Rodriguez, who look to be leaving the club this summer, with numerous clubs being interested.

If Thiago was to make the switch, it would be an unbelievable signing for Real, capturing a player who is recognised as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe, and secondly, a player who has recently played for their rivals Barcelona. This would be the definition of a blockbuster signing.
