#3 Hakim Ziyech – 10 goals
Hakim Ziyech’s relationship with Chelsea has hardly been straightforward. Signed in the same window as Werner and Havertz from Ajax, the Morocco international was expected to give the Blues something extra in the final third.
Unfortunately, injuries kept him from securing regular football under Lampard and he soon slid down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel gave him an opportunity to impress in his first match in charge. Sadly, his head was not in the game and he failed to save his side from a disappointing goalless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
As a result, the German kept Ziyech out of the starting XI over the next five games.
Ziyech ended the 2020-21 season with six goals, with four of them coming under the former PSG coach. The former Ajax man has looked considerably sharper this season when called upon.
He has bagged six goals and four assists in 24 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign, compelling his coach to give him more opportunities.
#2 Jorginho - 13 goals
Chelsea defensive midfielder Jorginho is arguably one of the best in the business. Last year, he helped Italy win the EURO and also won the Champions League with Chelsea.
Doing the unique double made him only the 10th player in history to win the EURO and the Champions League in the same year.
Thanks to his conservative positioning, Jorginho rarely gets the sight of goal. All the 13 goals he has scored so far under Tuchel have come from the penalty spot.
He scored four penalties in 25 games across competitions last term. This season, he has upped the ante, converting nine from the spot in only 29 appearances.
#1 Mason Mount - 13 goals
Mason Mount has been Chelsea's leading goalscorer since Thomas Tuchel took charge of the club in January 2021. Over the last 12 months, the 23-year-old has played 58 games under the German tactician, registering 13 goals and 11 assists.
Naturally an attacking midfielder, Mount can move up into attacking areas or drop down to central midfield during transitions. The Englishman never runs out of steam and can press with the same intensity for the entire 90 minutes.
He has an insatiable appetite for helping his team and is always prepared to do what his coach demands of him.
The Chelsea academy graduate has scored seven goals and provided six assists in the Premier League this season. He is currently joint-third in the English top-flight for goal involvement (13).
