#3 Romelu Lukaku - 8.3 million

Chelsea's most expensive signing, Romelu Lukaku, is the third most followed Blues player on Instagram with 8.3 million followers. This is no surprise considering the fact that Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the world right now and has played for some of the top clubs in Europe.

Lukaku has also used the platform provided by Instagram to speak on several social issues including racism and is therefore one of the most influential football players on the application.

The striker first came into the spotlight when he joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011. However, the Belgian, who was 18 back then, was unable to break into the first-team and was subsequently sent on loan spells at West Brom and Everton. The latter eventually snapped him up permanently.

The forward managed to score 87 goals in 166 appearances for Everton and this earned him a big-money move, this time to Manchester United in 2017. But Lukaku's time at Manchester United was not as fruitful and the forward managed to score only 42 goals in 96 games before moving to Inter in 2019.

At Inter, under the management of Antonio Conte, Lukaku transformed into arguably one of the best strikers in the world. He played a key part in their Serie A win last season, scoring 24 goals and providing 10 assists for the Nerazzurri.

Inter's financial crisis, however, meant that they were forced to sell Lukaku and the Belgian made a return to Chelsea this summer in a deal worth £100 million.

The 28-year-old has started his Chelsea career in fine fashion, scoring four goals in seven games for the Blues. He was the missing piece for Chelsea in attack last season and with his arrival, they will be hoping to put in a sterner challenge for the Premier League title.

#2 N'Golo Kante - 11.9 million

Arguably one of the best midfielders in the world, N'Golo Kante has managed to garner 11.9 million followers on Instagram, despite the fact that he is rarely active on it.

But considering Kante's status as one of the best, there's no denying that he deserves such a fan following.

Kante rose to prominence at Leicester City after the Foxes beat all odds to win the Premier League title in 2015-16. He subsequently moved to Chelsea and managed to win the title again in his first season at the club. As such, Kante is only the second player to win back-to-back Premier League titles with two different clubs.

Since then, Kante has been the engine of Chelsea's midfield and has added several titles to his league triumphs, including the Europa League, the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Kante was also a key member of France's World Cup winning squad in 2018, completely running the midfield alongside Paul Pogba.

His achievements at both club and international level are simply incredible and it's no wonder why Kante is one of the most followed people at Chelsea on Instagram.

#1 Thiago Silva - 18 million

'El Monstro' Thiago Silva is currently Chelsea's most followed player on Instagram with 18 million followers on his account. Unlike Kante, Silva is very active on his account and posts daily content for his followers. Whether it be his work routine, time with family or post-match thoughts, Silva never misses the chance to connect with his followers.

The Brazilian is one of the true legends of the game and even at the age of 37 is still going strong at the top level of football.

Playing for the likes of AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, Silva turned into one of the best defenders in the game and arrived at Chelsea after winning numerous domestic titles.

The veteran centre-back wasted no time in settling at Chelsea, making 26 appearances in the Premier League last season. He also saw his dream of winning the Champions League become a reality last year. Silva was an integral member of the side that ensured Chelsea lifted their second Champions League title.

In fact, his performances were so impressive that Chelsea opted to extend his contract by another year.

Silva has started the current Premier League campaign in brilliant fashion, scoring in a 3-0 away win against Tottenham. He has proven to be a great threat in set-piece situations and has marshaled the backline quite brilliantly.
