#3 Luis Advincula (Peru) - 33.8 km/h
Peru right-back Luis Advincula clocked the third-fastest speed in the World Cup. The 28-year-old set the pace during Peru's 1-0 defeat to Denmark in their first game of the tournament in Russia.
Luis Advincula earlier reached 36.15 km/h during a game against Chivas in the Liga MX, eclipsing Gareth Bale's record to become the fastest footballer in the world. He was reported to have covered 68.5 meters in 6.82 seconds when he created the record.
Advincula played all the games for Peru in the World Cup and did not miss a single minute. The Peruvian is currently playing with Lobos BUAP in Mexico’s top flight league.
