#1 Lionel Messi – Rolls Royce Phantom
There will be a lot of things said, a lot of whispers passed, a lot of hopes left unfulfilled – but that won’t change the fact that Lionel Messi is the best player produced by this generation. He might not have won anything with and for Argentina, and might never win anything either, but it can’t undermine what he is capable of doing with the ball at his feet.
The only car that I can think of to relate to him would be the best luxury car in the world: the Rolls Royce Phantom.
The Phantom is the most technologically advanced car from the British company and stands unparalleled in vigour among its rivals – just like the Argentine in Barcelona. At £318,120, it might not be the most expensive car in the world, but it is certainly priceless like Lionel Messi is to Barcelona.
And he, too, didn’t cost Barcelona much as he was brought to the academy as a teenager and then went on to surge up to the first team. Imagine if Messi was sold now, how much money would he cost?
But regardless of how much he costs, his importance will always be invaluable. Pretty much what a Rolls Royce would be to anyone who has one, eh?
