#3 Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain)
Everybody in the football world knows about Kylian Mbappe. The French forward has managed to remain Paris Saint-Germain's best player despite them bringing in Lionel Messi in the summer.
Mbappe is easily one of Europe's finest players, with over 300 direct goal contributions in his career already. The 23-year-old Frenchman has helped Paris Saint-Germain dominate in the French league this season and has maintained an average rating of 7.88.
Over the past month, however, Mbappe has an average rating of 8.11 from five matches, with four goals and an assist to his name in this period.
Mbappe seems to be in his final days at the Parc des Princes after it was reported by German magazine Bild that he had signed a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid. If this is accurate, the forward will join Los Blancos for free in July, ending his five-year association with Paris Saint-Germain.
#2 Gérard Moreno (Villarreal)
Spanish striker Gérard Moreno is the true definition of a late bloomer. The Villarreal man has really burst onto the scene in Europe in his late 20s and is one of the best players in the country.
Moreno has maintained an average rating of 7.65 for Villarreal this season. However, he has upped his game over the past month with an average rating of 8.12. Moreno featured four times for Villarreal in January 2022 and contributed two goals and an assist as the club won one, drew one and lost two of their matches.
The Spain international is at the peak of his powers and is enjoying a productive spell in his career. Moreno was the Player of the Year and top scorer in the UEFA Europa League last year as he helped the Yellow Submarine win the trophy. The forward will look to help Villarreal finish as high up the La Liga standings as possible this term.
#1 Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)
Robert Lewandowski has distinguished himself as arguably the best player in the world over the past two years. The Bayern Munich man has repeatedly scored goals and broken records for fun.
Lewandowski has dominated the German Bundesliga with his quality performances. The Polish striker has maintained an average rating of 8.16 this season.
Over the past month, however, Lewandowski had an average rating of 8.51 playing for Bayern Munich. Due to the winter break in Germany, he only played three times but scored four goals in January.
Lewandowski narrowly missed out on the 2021 Ballon d'Or before he won the FIFA The Best Men's Player of the Year award. He has also been shortlisted for the Laureus Sportsman of the Year Award. The striker will be aiming to lead Bayern Munich to a 10th successive Bundesliga title.
