#5 Manchester United vs Juventus: The win in Turin
The most recent incident happened in Turin, when Manchester United snatched a late victory in Turin. The two matches played were the most anticipated matches of the group stages, because it marked the return of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United, and Paul Pogba's return to Juventus.
At Old Trafford, a goal from Paulo Dybala was enough for Juventus to take the three points. In Turin the story was different, Juventus led till the 85th minute because of a Cristiano Ronaldo screamer, but again two major substitutions from Jose Mourinho changed the game for him. Juan Mata's curling freekick and an own goal by Alex Sandro from Ashley Young's freekick sealed a late victory for Mourinho's men.
Jose Mourinho came on to the pitch, and made a gesture which looked like he could not hear anything. He cupped his hands on to his ears and made the gesture, which was again a provocative act in hostile territory.
Over the two matches he received constant abuse from the Juventus supporters, those insults were personal as well as threatening to his family. After the victory in Turin, he replied by doing hand cup gesture. In the post-match conference, he said that “I didn’t offend anyone at the end, I just made a gesture that I wanted to hear them louder.”
Jose Mourinho is one of those personalities whom you cherish, when is with you and when is not, then you don't want to be his enemy.
