Benzema scored his first goal in the competition for Olympique Lyonnais in a 2-1 win over Rosenborg in 2005-06, scoring a total of 12 goals in three seasons for the French club before moving to Real Madrid in the summer of 2008-09.
Benzema's 62 goals in the competition is the most ever by any player, after Cristiano Ronaldo (128) and Lionel Messi (113).
