A last minute penalty converted by Cristiano Ronaldo ensured Real Madrid's progress to the final four of the UEFA Champions League. The Los Blancos are now the first team in the history of the competition to reach eight successive semi-finals.
The streak dates back to 2011 when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club. Apart from reaching this historic feat, Madrid has successfully won Europe's elite competition in three of the last four seasons and became the first team to ever win the Champions League in back to back seasons.
Zinedine Zidane's job is on the line and he will be looking to achieve a three-peat and winning the trophy will help in avoiding the sack.
