Andoni Zubizarreta

Andoni Zubizarreta is the holder of the record for the most caps in the LaLiga. The veteran custodian played majorly for three clubs in his career -- Athletic Bilbao (6 years), Barcelona (8 years), and Valencia (4 years).

His feat of making 629 appearances in the Spanish League has not even been neared by anyone. Raul Gonzalez is the next on this list with 550 appearances while Eusebio comes in at third with 543 appearances.

Zubizarreta was also an important part of the Spanish national team and represented them in four World Cups -- having a total of 126 national caps. Zubi also achieved tremendous success in club football with 6 LaLiga titles (4 with Barcelona and 2 with Athletic Bilbao), 3 Copa del Rey titles (2 with Barcelona and 1 with Athletic Bilbao).

The 57-year-old is currently the Director of Football of Olympique de Marseille since October 2016 after holding the same post for Barcelona for four and a half years.

The reason why it may never be possible for someone to break this record is that many players have a tendency of shifting leagues. Gone are the days when a player was loyal to only one club.
