Alexander-Arnold's breakthrough season was rewarded with a massive rating boost

The last one year has been a massive learning curve for Trent Alexander-Arnold. The teenager received more first-team opportunities as Nathaniel Clyne was sidelined indefinitely at the start of the season.

Trent showed flashes of brilliance with his offensive display and crossing skills early on but in a few games, he was troubled by opposition wingers. His willingness to learn and improve was evident when he kept the likes of Leroy Sane and Cristiano Ronaldo at bay in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.

His breakthrough season with Liverpool was also rewarded with a first international call-up to the England squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
