#3 Presnel Kimpembe (since July 1, 2015)
PSG centre-back Presnel Kimpembe occupies the third spot on our list. Beginning his stint with the Parisians at the young age of 19, Kimpembe established himself as a very important element of the club.
The Frenchman has also enjoyed a successful stint with France to date. Even though former Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos's arrival at PSG poses a threat to Kimpembe's regular spot in Pochettino's starting XI, the club is certain about retaining the 26-year-old.
The PSG number 3 held a permanent spot as the hub of defense after the club's captain and long-term serving player Thiago Silva's departure. With age on his side, chances are high for Kimpembe to maintain his place in Pochettino's plans.
#2 Marquinhos (since July 19, 2013)
Not every player would be as fortunate as Marquinhos at the moment. The Brazilian is set to captain a squad that includes the likes of Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi — former captains of Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Signed with the French giants in 2013, Marquinhos has played over 323 games across all competitions in a PSG jersey. The Brazilian defender, who is playing his 9th season with PSG, is not just a crucial member of the team but also a crowd favorite.
Marquinhos has also been an important cog for his national team. He stood as a wall in Brazil's Copa America 2019 and 2016 Olympic Gold Medal triumphs. Additionally, he played a key role in Canarinha's 2021 Copa America campaign.
Fans will be excited to see how PSG fare bolstered by their new signings and their club captain.
#1 Marco Verratti (since July 18, 2012)
Occupying the first position is PSG's longest-serving player within the squad — Marco Verratti. Overcoming his diminutive stature, the Italian midfielder has established himself as a fine midfielder over the course of years. He has earned plaudits for his aggressive approach and playmaking skills.
Verratti specializes in a holding midfield position. One of the legends of the game Xavi has compared Marco Verratti to himself in terms of playing style.
Having started his professional career at a very young age, the 28-year-old has enjoyed a successful run at club and country level. The 2021-22 Ligue 1 season will be Marco Verratti's 10th with PSG. He has accumulated a stunning total of 27 trophies with the Parisians.
He also played an important part in Italy's recent 2020 Euro triumph.
