#3 Patrick Vieira
Patrick Vieira is another candidate for the Arsenal job. However, appointing him might not be the wisest move on paper either. Like Favre, Vieira was also recently sacked from his job.
After guiding Ligue 1 side Nice to a seventh-place finish in his first season in charge and then to a fifth-place finish in his sophomore season,, he was sacked after the team suffered five defeats on the trot just a little more than a week ago.
Vieira did a decent job prior to his Ligue 1 gig at MLS side New York City FC which saw the Manchester City sister club finish second in the second regular season under his charge.
Vieira is an extremely popular figure among the Arsenal fanbase. He was a part of the Invincibles squad and has won three Premier League titles at Arsenal. However, having seen one former players fail as the manager, going ahead and appointing Vieira who's managing career has not been all that would be a bit of a stretch.
#2 Thomas Tuchel
Despite all the incredible talent at his disposal, Paris Saint-Germain got off to a dismal start to the new season. They are currently third on the Ligue 1 table and have lost four of their 14 matches already.
Tuchel's credentials as a coach are proven but at Arsenal, he won't get anywhere near the kind of financial backing that he currently enjoys at Paris Saint-Germain. He has led the Parisiens to two consecutive Ligue 1 titles and guided them to the final of the UEFA Champions League last season.
Tuchel is yet to test himself in the Premier League and this could be a great opportunity for him to step it up. He has been linked with Arsenal in the past but as things stand, Tuchel is the manager at Paris Saint-Germain and it is unlikely that he will be shown the exit door especially now that they've made it to the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.
#1 Massimiliano Allegri
The favourite to take over at Arsenal by far, Massimiliano Allegri has remained unemployed since stepping down from the manager's role at Juventus in 2019. Allegri parted ways with Juventus on his own terms, winning five Scudettos in a row.
Allegri has removed himself from the scene for long enough and the challenge posed by the weight of the job at Arsenal might prove to be tempting enough for him to get back into the thick of things once again.
According to Calciomercato, unless Arsenal shows significant improvement in the next three games, Arteta will be asked to leave. The report adds that Allegri is the frontrunner for the job.
