#3 Alex Telles

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted strong competition for left-back Luke Shaw last season. This resulted in the signing of Alex Telles from Porto to not only provide backup but also add a different dynamic to the squad.
Telles is a well-known figure in the Portuguese league, especially given his attacking mentality as a full-back. He can whip in some amazing crosses and is lethal with his set-pieces. His defensive side is a bit edgy but so has been Shaw's this season.
The English left-back has been terrible with his positioning and defensive duties, which was one of the reasons why Manchester United were thrashed by Liverpool at the weekend.
Despite committing such mistakes, Shaw was lucky enough not to be benched by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The incoming manager certainly will not be as kind and it might turn out to be an unexpected window of opportunity for Telles.
#2 Edinson Cavani

There are very few strikers in the world right now who are as hard-working as Edinson Cavani on a football pitch. Despite his primary job being to score goals, the Uruguayan exhibits an insane amount of energy with his pressing and work-rate, even at the age of 34.
That being said, Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival this summer has made things a bit difficult for Cavani. With a star like the Portuguese in the squad, team selection has become tricky for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Manchester United manager has gone ahead with Ronaldo in most cases and at times hasn't looked to be the best choice.
There's no denial that Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world and a phenomenal goal-scoring machine. However, Cavani had a wonderful first season with Manchester United, scoring 10 goals in the Premier League last season.
The Uruguayan looks to be in better sync with the other players when compared to Ronaldo. While it is going to be a difficult choice for the incoming new manager too, it might help Cavani's cause.
#1 Donny van de Beek

With a significant amount of time passed, it is still unknown as to why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not favor Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman was signed by Manchester United in 2020 from Ajax given his prolific skills as a midfielder.
Van de Beek can play as a No. 6, No. 8 and a No.10 on the pitch. Like every other player on this list, the 24-year old has struggled to get regular game time under his belt. Despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirming at the start of the season to give the former Ajax midfielder more chances, he has failed to deliver on his commitments.
Understandably, Van de Beek is frustrated with that and with the departure of the current Manchester United manager, it could turn out to be a blessing for him. It will be interesting to see how the midfielder grabs the opportunity to prove himself, if such a situation arises.
