#3 Jesse Lingard

Manchester United have had some stunning players come through their academy and Jesse Lingard is one of them. Over time, the Englishman was expected to achieve big things in his career but he struggled with injuries and poor form.

The English midfielder went on multiple loan spells, with the best being at West Ham United last season. With the Hammers, Jesse Lingard scored nine times in 16 appearances. That's the thing about him, when on song, he's a wonderful player but the problem lies with his consistency.

His inconsistency is the very reason he's not a regular starter for Manchester United. The 28-year old will be looking to capitalize on the opportunities he is given this season. Failing to do so will almost definitely result in his departure in 2022.

The English left-back had a memorable time last season capped off by his exploits with the England national team at Euro 2020. Having come from such good form, Luke Shaw hasn't looked the same player this season.

Shaw hasn't had that continuous spell of good games on a regular basis and even if it has happened, the duration of it hasn't been long. Since becoming one of the best left-backs last season, the former Southampton defender has been quite vulnerable this term.

Manchester United will be counting on Shaw to be more consistent, especially with his defending. He has been caught out of his position quite frequently and it has to stop if United are to concede fewer goals.

He has the passing range, vision and the technical ability to create goals out of nothing. At Manchester United, though, the Frenchman has struggled to find a continuous rhythm to his game. It has to do with the tactics too but more so because of his inconsistent form.

Pogba can be one of the best players in a match and the next match, he can end up being one of the most non-influential players on the pitch. It is very inexplicable but that has been the case more often than not. While it seemed like Pogba would return to his best form this season after an explosive start with Manchester United, he was sent off against Liverpool in the last game,
