Chelsea registered a 1-0 victory against Swansea on Wednesday in which they decided to rest their key player Eden Hazard.
On the other hand, Newcastle United ended their four-game losing streak against West Brom as they came back from two goals behind to earn a crucial point.

Shola Ameobi's injury-time winner sealed an epic 4-3 win for Newcastle United in an entertaining 3rd round fixture of the League cup.
Patrick Van Aanholt opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 6th minute of the game before Nile Ranger equalized for the away side in the 27th minute.
Ryan Taylor made it 2-1 for Newcastle before Shola Ameobi scored in the second half to give his side a two-goal advantage.
However, Nicolas Anelka's neat finish in the 70th minute and a calm penalty in the 87th minute levelled the score for the Blues.
In the dying moments of the game, it was Newcastle United who had the last laugh as Ameobi rose to glance in a header from a corner in injury time to complete an entertaining seven-goal thriller.

This game in the 2011/12 season of the Premier League witnessed one of the best goals of all time as Papiss Cisse defied all the laws of physics to score an astonishing goal of the season.
The Newcastle striker stunned Stamford Bridge within 20 minutes when he received a pass from Davide Santon, flicking it up with his right foot and blasting the ball past Petr Cech with his left.
But, Cisse had more in store for Petr Cech as he produced the magical moment of the season in the injury time of the second half. The Senegal international cut across with his right foot and sent a swerving shot flying over Cech and into the net to end the hopes of a comeback from the home side.

Moussa Sissoko scored twice on his home debut as Newcastle came from behind to beat Chelsea in a lively game that ended in a 3-2 victory for Magpies.
Jonas Gutierrez headed the opener for his side before Frank Lampard equalized for the visitors with an unstoppable shot in the 55th minute of the game.
Juan Mata curled in an excellent shot past Tim Krul in the 61st minute of the game which put Chelsea in the driving seat.
However, it took just seven minutes for the home side to equalize as Moussa Sissoko pounced on a rebound to make it 2-2.
As the game was heading towards a draw, Moussa Sissoko scored once again in the stoppage time to win all three points for his side.

Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy's second-half goals gave Newcastle a deserved victory over a strong Chelsea side at St James' Park.
Chelsea dominated the first half as John Terry hit the bar and had a header cleared off the line which kept the scoreline 0-0 at halftime.
However, Newcastle dictated the proceedings in the second period and went ahead when Yoan Gouffran headed in a free-kick.
Chelsea pushed for an equalizer throughout the game but the Magpies' defence stood firm to deny a single good chance for the Blues in the second half.
The comeback hopes were crushed by Loic Remy when he curled in a shot in the 89th minute to give his side a 2-0 victory at the end.

Chelsea's dream run in the league was stopped by Newcastle as the Blues suffered their first defeat of the season at St.James' Park in their 15th league game.

The Magpies took the lead in the 57th minute of the game when Cisse slotted in after Gary Cahill missed Sammy Ameobi's low cross into the box.
The Senegal striker made it 2-0 for the home side in the 78th minute when he tapped in a pass from Moussa Sissoko.
Steven Taylor was sent-off in the 81st minute as the hosts were reduced to ten-men with nine more minutes on the clock.
Didier Drogba pulled one back for the visitors in the 83rd minute but they failed to score one more as the game ended 2-1 in the favour of the home side.
