Liverpool was founded in the 1892 season and never took long before they saw rapid success in the domestic league, winning their first title in the 1901 season. Five years later, their second Premier League title followed. Between 1922 and 1990, they won additional 16 Premier League titles bringing their total league titles to 18.

Also, they won a total of 15 FA Community Shield titles between 1964 and 2006 and also won 7 FA Cup titles between 1965 and 2006. Liverpool also won the League Cup on eight different occasions.

Even with such great domestic dominance, Liverpool struggled to find success in European competitions. After winning two Europa League titles and two Champions League titles in the 1973, 1976 and 1977, 1978 seasons respectively, Liverpool won the Champions league in 1981 and 1984 and their third Europa League title in 2001.

In 2005, Liverpool famously defeated AC Milan to win the Champions League after coming back from three goals down in the first half. Between 1977 and 2005, Liverpool saw tremendous successes in the UEFA Super Cup, winning the cup three times. After their 2005 triumph, Liverpool declined in form but their historic performances make them one of the best English football clubs ever.

Their position on the all-time league table is first with 6745 points.
