Popularly known as the 'sidekick' of Big Sam, the Sammy did little to live up to the expectations of the Bolton board. He won just one of his 11 games before he was shown the door.
He was ridiculed regularly talking about the 'positives' about the game in post-match interviews despite suffering a defeat. He then headed to Liverpool and joined Rafa Benitez as his assistant manager.
