The Premier League has had some amazing French players, but very few have been as charismatic and successful as Eric Cantona. The French attacker was signed in 1992 by Manchester United from Leeds United.
Cantona's amazing vision and superb technique helped him become a regular goalscorer and creator for the Red Devils. The Frenchman first double-digit goal and assist tallies in the same Premier League season in the very first edition of the competition in 1992-93.
He bagged 15 goals and 16 assists in United's triumphant campaign. Cantona replicated the feat the next season, scoring 18 times and registering 12 assists, as Alex Ferguson's men successfully defended their title.
Incredibly, the Frenchman would repeat the feat two more times - 1995-96 and 1996-97 - as United won their fourth Premier League title in five years. He scored 14 goals and made ten assists in 1995-96 before bagging ten strikes and 12 assists in the next season.
#2 Frank Lampard - 4
There is no denying Frank Lampard's staggering achievements with Chelsea. He arguably remains one of the best midfielders ever to play in the Premier League. His goal contributions from midfield were immense in the Blues' success.
Lampard bagged double-digit goal and assist tallies in the same league campaign four times in his Chelsea career. The first time he did so was in Chelsea's victorious 2004-05 campaign, where he scored 13 goals and registered 18 assists. The next time he achieved it was in 2006-07 season, where he bagged 11 goals and ten assists. However, the Blues were beaten to the league title by United.
Lampard would repeat the feat in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 campaigns. In 2008-09, the current Everton manager scored 12 times and provided ten assists as the Blues finished third.
The next season, he amassed 22 goals and registered 14 assists as Chelsea won their third league title in six years.
#1 Wayne Rooney - 5
There is a reason why Wayne Rooney is so highly regarded by the Manchester United faithful. The Englishman was an absolute monster in front of goal, and with age, he did a phenomenal job playing in various other roles.
His goal contributions for United remain invaluable. He is their all-time top goal-scorer with 253 goals. Rooney bagged double-digit goal and assist tallies in the same Premier League campaign on a staggering five occasions, all with United.
The first time he achieved it was in the 2006-07 season. He scored 14 times and registered 11 assists as the Red Devils won their first league title in four years. The next season, Rooney replicated the feat, bagging 12 goals and ten assists, as Ferguson's men successfully defended their title.
The current Derby County manager would achieve the feat for the third time in 2010-11. He found the back of the net 11 times and registered as many assists as United beat holders Chelsea to the league title.
Rooney's next two double-digit goal and assist campaigns in the same Premier League season would come in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
The Englishman bagged 12 goals and registered ten assists in 2012-13 as United won their 13th and latest title in the Premier League era. The next season, he scored 17 goals and made ten assists, but holders United failed to finish in the top three.
