The center back scored three goals in twenty matches for Istanbul Basaksehir, who eventually won the Turkish Super League, their first top-flight title ever.
Regardless of the Slovakian's satisfactory stats, he is well known for his own goals over the course of his time with Liverpool. He netted seven times against his own team, four of which came in the 2013-2014 season.
Skrtel was awarded the Liverpool player of the Year in 2012 and was Slovak Footballer of the Year four times (2007,2008,2011,2012).
Skrtel currently plays for Spartak Trnava located in his home country of Slovakia.

Richard Dunne is the sole record holder with 10 own goals in both the EPL and top five leagues across Europe. They were achieved while playing for Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers.
The Irishman also doubles as the player with the most red cards, a record he shares with Patrick Vieria and Duncan Ferguson.
During Dunne's spell at Manchester City, he won the player of the year four times in a row, the first ever Cityzen to do so. He played a total of 515 games scoring 12 times and keeping over 100 clean sheets.
The now former centre-back retired in 2015 and is currently a pundit for BT Sports and a part-time golfer.
