#3 Sergino Dest
Benjamin Mendy will not be playing for Manchester City for the foreseeable future. In fact, there is little chance of him ever stepping on the pitch for the club again. Pep Guardiola needs a replacement for the Frenchman, and he is reportedly looking at his former team to get a player or two.
Reports in Spain suggest Manchester City have entered the fray to sign Sergino Dest from Barcelona. The Blaugrana are open to letting the American defender leave, and are not setting a hefty price tag on him.
Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also said to be in the race to sign the full-back, who can play on both flanks and in attack.
#2 Harry Kane
Harry Kane was linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer, and it seemed to be a done deal at one point. However, Tottenham Hotspur refused to budge on their asking price. That saw the Cityzens eventually walk away, and the striker remained in London.
The Englishman is said to be happy at the club, but things do not appear so. Reports suggest Kane is still interested in joining Manchester City, and could request a transfer if the two clubs begin talks for him.
According to The Athletic, Guardiola is desperate to sign the Tottenham star, as he would be the final piece of the puzzle at Etihad. The Cityzens are keen on winning the Champions League this season. They missed out on it last campaign as they lost to Chelsea in the final.
#1 Andreas Christensen
Chelsea had a deal agreed with Andreas Christensen, but the Danish star seems to have changed his mind. The contract talks have stalled for some time, and Manchester City are looking to take advantage of that.
Reports suggest Guardiola is a big fan of the ball-playing centre-back, and could be open to having him in his squad. Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte have been linked with moves away. With Christensen having less than six months left on his deal, Manchester City are said to be keeping tabs on the situation.
Chelsea are still working on keeping the academy product at the club. However, Tottenham, Barcelona, Manchester United and several other clubs are also said to be interested in making a move for the defender.
