#3 Fred | Manchester United

When the Brazilian arrived at Manchester United from Shaktar Donesk for an astonishing £47 million deal in 2018, he was destined for great things. Thanks to Solskjaer's interest in his development, Fred has gone on to play well over 100 games for the Red Devils.

However, his lapse in concentration as well as his error-prone performances in midfield have made the star a liability for the club.

Granted, there are times when Fred shines. United's most recent game against Villareal saw the star aid the Red Devils to win 2-0 with a brilliant performance. But these exciting moments are rather few and far between.

Fred is often easy to get past by opponents. His duel success rate (40.4%) is one of the lowest among other defensive midfielders in the Premier League. If the star can become more consistent with his rare brilliance, Manchester United will certainly have a formidable midfield.

#2 Harry Maguire | Manchester United

The Manchester United captain was quick to put his hands to his ears while celebrating one of his recent goals for England against Albania.

While his international games have been going brilliantly, the former Leicester City man has been rather sub-par for his club. He's continued to play poorly while struggling to lead a troubled defense. The England star is yet to get into form for Manchester United.

During United's 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool, the star was culpable for at least three out of five goals conceded. A 4-2 defeat against Leicester City earlier in the season saw him make notably erroneous mistakes as well. The captain is judged to have made nearly ten errors leading to opposition goals this season.

#1 Kepa Arrizabalaga | Chelsea

Chelsea v Southampton - Carabao Cup Round of 16

Chelsea's number one goalkeeper has played just three games for the Blues this season, essentially making the numbering system moot. His supposed backup goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has picked up all the accolades. Mendy has brilliantly taken over the spot between the sticks and is proving his importance to the Blues consistently. For Kepa Arrizabalaga, second fiddle is all he can get after being bought for £72 million in 2018.

Chelsea's reason for bringing in Mendy was clear as day. Any brilliance that the Blues scouts had seen in Arrizabalaga in the past was long gone. The star made dramatic mistakes consistently throughout his first two seasons at Chelsea, forcing former manager Frank Lampard to come to his defense often.

By this time last year, the star had played three Premier League games. He had also made three errors leading to goals. Horrible returns for a £72 million price tag.
