#3 Sergio Rico
If there is a position that PSG definitely need shredding in, it is between the sticks. Their astounding showing in the summer transfer window of 2021 saw them pick a handful of free targets, including Italian prodigy Gianluigi Donnarumma. With Keylor Navas already guarding their goal, PSG have two of the most reliable goalkeepers in their ranks.
However, this transfer practically ends Sergio Rico's career in Paris. The Spanish shot-stopper had initially joined the Ligue 1 giants on loan from Sevilla in 2019, a move which gained permanent status the following season.
In two campaigns with PSG, Rico has only played 23 games, racking up 14 clean sheets in the process. Nevertheless, the majority of his appearances have come in cup games. With the arrival of Donnarumma and the dependable Navas to give him constant competition, Rico's days in the French capital are numbered.
#2 Layvin Kurzawa
Bought in 2015 from bitter rivals AS Monaco for a sizeable fee of €25m, Layvin Kurzawa was expected to make the left-back position his own at PSG. Given his potential at the time, this notion was considered to be more of a fact than an assumption. However, Kurzawa has failed to hit the heights and is now third-choice at PSG.
The nine-time Ligue 1 champions issued a serious statement of intent with the signings of Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes. While Hakimi has already proven his class with Borussia Dortmund and Inter, Mendes is touted to become an absolute star in the future.
Although Juan Bernat has had his struggles with injury, he could be an ideal option for rotation alongside Mendes. However, this development has left Kurzawa out in the cold, with the Frenchman donning the PSG shirt for a paltry nine minutes this season. It is evident that the Parisians have no intention of including Kurzawa in their future plans, and a transfer in 2022 could be the best option for both parties.
#1 Julian Draxler
Julian Draxler was supposed to be the next big thing at PSG following his big-money transfer from Wolfsburg. The German midfielder has been labeled a prodigy ever since he broke into the first team of Schalke in 2011, aged 17.
However, the talented attacker has been a victim of his own versatility. Having excelled on the left flank, Draxler had to settle for a spot in midfield following the star-signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Instead of departing the club in protest, Draxler decided to adapt to his newfound position.
In hindsight, the 28-year-old Germany international would've been better off sticking to his favorite spot on the field. A shift into midfield converted the free-flowing attacker into a conservative player, robbing him of his dynamism. With the addition of Lionel Messi, PSG arguably have the deadliest attack in all of Europe. Therefore, it would be the perfect time to get rid of their forgotten talisman.
