Manchester City said midweek that Benjamin Mendy is back in training and in contention for Sunday's match against Liverpool at Anfield. The French left-back was conspicuous in his absence from the team and his return could provide depth to Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola did not have a lot of options at left-back and had to play Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabian Delph in Mendy's place. Mendy is fast and dangerous on the left wing and can create beautiful passes and crosses.
