#1 Sandesh Jhingan
Starting out with Sikkim United, he moved to Mumbai in 2014 but only found success in the yellow colors as he won the 'Emerging player of the League' in the first season of ISL. Since then, he has registered himself as a fan favorite among the Yellow Army after helping the side qualify for two ISL finals in three years.
Sandesh Jhingan became the highest paid Indian defender in the ISL after penning a deal worth Rs. 3.8 Crores to be paid over a period of three years. He was even made the captain of the side this year, though he has been quite poor this season, with his side conceding 10 goals in seven matches. Out of those 10 goals, two were scored from penalties given away by Jhingan.
He has won 22 caps for the national team and has started in 21 of those games, but looks set to lose his starting spot to his Indian compatriots doing much better this season.
