But he is already a well-established Welsh international, having appeared four times at senior level for his country, including two impressive performances during the most recent international break.

Ampadu is a man with the calmness and maturity of someone ten years his senior, and he looks like he has the right attitude to play for Chelsea. He is capable of doing a job both in a defensive midfield role and across the back four. He has got to the stage now where he needs to be playing more first team football, and he will hope to have that opportunity in the Europa League.
