Gomes was signed by Luis Enrique in 2016 from Valencia. Since his arrival, the player was touted to be one of the worst deals pulled off by the club.

The Portuguese featured regularly on the bench for the Catalans. Some sections of the fans constantly appealed for the sale of midfielder while he still had buyers.

The 24-year-old's performances have been rusty if an honest assessment is given. He made a total of 16 league appearances last term, coming on 10 times as a substitute.

Some Premier League clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal have been reported to be monitoring the player's situation at the club. They remain interested in buying what Barca fans consider to be a flop.

Perhaps its more than a profitable deal for the Spanish giants and the player might be sold this time.
