#4 Ahmed Jahouh
FC Goa started their journey in fashionable manner, just like they did in the previous season. The Gaurs won three of their opening four matches and were sitting at the top of the table.
However, despite dominating the entire match, they were conceding easy goals. The 1-4 thrashing against Jamshedpur FC was a wake-up call for Sergio Lobera-coached team.
In order to stop their opponents from scoring freely, Lobera decided to put Moroccan Ahmed Jahouh in defensive midfield position.
The move worked wonders as Jahouh played pivotal in stopping the big names of Indian football. He stood like a wall just ahead of the defensive line and made sure nothing went past him.
Losing him in the final proved costly for FC Goa as the side lost to Bengaluru by a solitary goal. Jahouh too hasn’t signed a contract yet and already got offers from other ISL teams. It remains to be seen whether he accepts any of them or not.
#3 Jackichand Singh
Jackichand Singh is considered one of most talented youngsters in the country. After Udanta Singh, he is the most trustable person to play in the right wing. With his raw speed and sheer skills, he can make life tough for opponent defenders.
For Goa, he formed a lethal combination with Edu Bedia and Hugo Boumous. He played every match for his club and scored four goals in the process. He also made four assists, most of which were converted by Corominas.
The top ISL teams are keenly watching the progress of Manipuri youngster and by next season, he could turn up for a different team if Goa doesn’t offer him a contract immediately.
