#2 Carlos Calvo
The Spanish footballer came through the lower divisions of domestic football and has left his impression in his debut ISL season. The way he controls the ball and makes passes is impressive. It is this quality which separates him from other teammates. No one was as good passer as Calvo in the Jamshedpur FC team.
He scored four goals and made six assists in the 15 matches he played this season. He was in his usual form in the Super Cup against FC Goa, where he provided two assists and scored one from the spot. However, it is his behaviour that makes him a controversial figure. Calvo missed three matches for an alleged racial abuse towards Delhi Dynamos played Gianni Zuiverloon and club clearly told at that time that they will not stand behind him.
But his commitment and responsibility is second to one and he could well be signed by any other ISL teams ahead of the next season.
#1 Jerry Mawihmingthanga
Being one of the talented youngsters of the country, Jerry wasn’t given enough time to show his talent this time. Jerry came to prominence when he scored the fastest goal of the tournament last season against Kerala Blasters. Even that was not enough to satisfy the coach, who used him as a late substitute mostly in a desperate need to change the complexion of the game.
Jerry played only 628 minutes this season spanning 12 matches and provided just one assist in the entire season. The red-hot form of Farukh Choudhary and Michael Soosairaj might have forced coach Cesar Ferrando to keep the youngster on bench. But to get more attention, Jerry might switch to some other club before the next season commences.
