Atletico Madrid want to bring back Carrasco on loan for the remainder of the season

The versatile Belgian international left Atletico Madrid to join Chinese club Dalian Yifang in February, 2018 as they offered him a pretty lucrative deal. However, as expected, the amount of quality and competition in Chinese football is expected and Carrasco experienced a drop in form.

Carrasco has been longing to come back to Europe since last summer. Arsenal and Bayern Munich were linked with him but neither of the clubs pursued him seriously enough to bring him back to Europe.

However, he could be set for a comeback as Euro 2020 approaches and he wants to be a key part of Belgium's campaign this summer. Notable Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano tweeted this.

Atletico tried to sign Edinson Cavani, but could not agree upon a fee with Paris Saint- Germain. They needed depth in their attack, and Carrasco arriving on a loan deal till the end of the season would very much suit the causes and goals of both the player and Atletico for the time being.
