If Real are looking for someone who will guarantee goals immediately, Icardi is their man. The 25-year-old has been exceptional for Inter in Serie A over the last few years and has really cemented his position as one of the top strikers in world football. He has scored 100 league goals for Inter in just 160 games, including netting 29 last season.

One thing he will be desperate to do is earn himself a place in the Argentina squad, having missed out on selection for the World Cup over the summer. He may feel that the best way to do that is to be playing at the highest level regularly, and he will be doing that at Real. The spotlight will be on him at the Bernabeu, and that can only be a good thing for him, to prove that he can do the business with the pressure on.
